There are three "blogs" included in this demo website. (Two are text blogs - although you may add pictures to them. One is a photo blog - although you may add text to it.) We called the blog you are viewing now: Messages. The thought is that this may be used as a place for your church's minister's messages or minister's blog. We can change the name of the blog to something other than Messages, if you prefer. This sample blog has only one category called: General. We can configure additional categories for you as you wish. As is possible with all the editable areas of the website, the blogs allow you to add pictures.
This is one of two sample text blogs on the demo website. The other sample text blog is called Church News. The titles of the blogs, as well as the categories they contain are configurable. Just let us know what you want them to be and we will make it so. Simple is usually better, for both those entering information into your website (you or others assigned), and for those who visit your website. Because of this, it is suggested you keep the categories broad in scope and few in number.
Below the blog entry, website visitors have the ability to leave comments. This is configurable and can be turned off, or left on.
What's a Blog? from Wikipedia A
weblog (usually shortened to blog, but occasionally spelled web log or
weblog) is a web-based publication consisting primarily of periodic
articles (normally in reverse chronological order). Although most early
weblogs were manually updated, tools to automate the maintenance of
such sites made them accessible to a much larger population, and the
use of some sort of browser-based software is now a typical aspect of
"blogging". Blogs can be hosted by dedicated blog hosting services, or
they can be run using blog software on regular web hosting services.
Like other media, blogs often focus on a particular subject, such as
food, politics, or local news. Some blogs function as online diaries. A
typical blog combines text, images, and links to other blogs, web
pages, and other media related to its topic. To read more on the topic, visit Wikipedia.
